Meet the team

Nutrition - Functional Medicine - Eating Disorders - Health Coach - Hypnotherapy

Here at Urban Wellness, we are an experienced, multi-disciplinary team that can work collaboratively to ensure you get the right support.  The team is run by Clinic Director, Nicola, and we also work with a network of specialised practitioners and can refer if needed, or can work alongside your existing health team.

Nicola Shubrook

Clinic Director, Registered Nutritional Therapist, Certified Functional Medicine Practitioner & Eating Disorder Nutritionist (mBANT, rCNHC, IFMCP)

Nicola’s passion with food and functional medicine began over 20 years ago when she started to struggle with panic attacks, and knew there was a better solution than medication.

​

She trained as a registered Nutritional Therapist in 2009 at CNM, one of the leading nutrition colleges in the UK, and is a Certified Functional Medicine Practitioner from the Institute For Functional Medicine.

​

Nicola has also trained as a Clinical Hypnotherapist and as a Master Practitioner in Eating Disorders from the National Centre For Eating Disorders. Nicola is also a member BANT's Professional Practice Panel, helping to set the standard for professional practice and support other practitioners.

​

Nicola is a freelance journalist, writing for many brands including The Telegraph, Stylist and MailOnline, and is a regular contributor for GoodFood.com

Sophie Nielsen

Registered Nutritional Therapist (mBANT, rCNHC, MSc)

Sophie is a registered nutritional therapist, specialising in gut health, hormones and brain health. She trained with CNELM in 2019, completing an MSc in Personalised Nutrition and practice diploma in Nutritional Therapy.

​

Sophie has always been fascinated by the brain and mental health; choosing a joint honours degree in Psychology and Physiology at Cardiff University (2007). More recently, she published a paper in the Elsevier journal, Brain Research (September 2021 issue), on the link between the gut microbiota and Parkinson’s Disease.

​

Sophie is also an accredited reflux practitioner for Digestion with Confidence. She provides one-to-one consultations to support men and women with digestive issues, hormonal imbalances, chronic health conditions, and those wanting to improve their mental health.

Irina Pollastri

Registered Nutritional Therapist & Eating Disorder Nutritionist (mBANT, rCNHC)

Irina is a registered Nutritional Therapist specialising in digestive and gut health, eating disorders, and personalised nutrition.

 

She trained at the highly regarded College of Naturopathic Medicine in London, where she completed a diploma with distinction in Naturopathic Nutrition in 2020, followed by an additional year in Naturopathy.

​

Beyond her core training, Irina holds further qualifications, including being a Master Practitioner for Obesity and Eating Disorders and completing specialist programmes such as the Nutrigenomics Practitioner Programme and the SIBO Mastery Programme.

 

In addition to her clinical practice, she volunteers weekly for Beat, the UK’s leading charity supporting those affected by eating disorders.

Kate Rohde

Health Coach

Kate's personal health journey with anxiety from childhood & then high levels of stress whilst pursuing a career in the Fashion Industry for over 20 years, which all manifested as various different symptoms. From taking a holistic approach, having coaching and seeing a nutritionist herself, her healing journey began.

​

From personal experiences and having a true desire to help others regain their health too, Kate went on to study a Diploma in Health Coaching at the CNM.  Kate is also continuing her studies at CNM to be a Nutritional Therapist.

​

Kate believes we are all capable of exuding good health, and her goal is to motivate, guide and empower you, whilst supporting and helping you maintain long-term habits which lead to a more fulfilling, calmer and healthier life.

Libby Allard

Registered Cognitive Hypnotherapist (DipCHyp, HPD, NLPP)

Libby is a fully qualified QCH Cognitive Hypnotherapist and NLP Practitioner. She has over 10 years experience helping people with a wide variety of issues, including anxiety, trauma, phobias and help with habitual or unwanted behaviours.

 

Libby trained at The Quest Institute in Regents University, London in 2010. She holds a Diploma in Cognitive Hypnotherapy (DipCHyp), the Hypnotherapy Practitioner Diploma (HPD), and the NLP Practitioner Certificate (NLPP). 

 

Libby uses a variety of different approaches to get to the root of your problem quickly and help you to create lasting change. Having access to many different techniques allows her to create a treatment plan specifically for how you experience your problem and the outcome that you would like, in a way that you feel comfortable with. 

 

Having experienced her own anxiety and overcome PTSD in the past, Libby is passionate about helping her clients make the changes that enable them to create the lives that they want to be living.
